We’ve explored the ideas. Now it’s time to bring them into your home. This final part explains how the design process becomes reality — from site visits to system selection — and how our team helps translate concepts into tailored solutions.
Design is only useful if it leads somewhere. You might already have a sense of what works for your windows - curtains or blinds, sheer or blackout, motorised or manual - but the next step is to plan how these ideas translate into the physical space.
That’s where real-world factors come in: exact measurements, ceiling and wall conditions, power point locations, and layout constraints. Every home has its quirks. And every design needs to work around them.
This part outlines what happens once you’re ready to move forward, and how our team guides you through the process.
Making the Right Decisions
Once we understand your layout and design style, our role is to help guide the decision-making process – not just from a technical perspective, but with a clear design sensibility. Our team draws from experience to recommend curtain ro blind systems that suit both the space and your overall intent.
That might mean favouring curtains over blinds to soften a sharp architectural space, or opting for a sleeker blind where visual simplicity matters. We’ll also help you weigh up whether motorisation makes sense — whether for convenience, accessibility, or aesthetic clarity.
Exploring Fabrics in Person
Design is tactile. That’s why fabric selection happens best in our showroom, where you can see full-length curtains and blinds in natural light — and handle them to understand texture, movement, and colour.
We’ll walk you through the fabric types (as covered in Part 3) and blind materials (covered in Part 4), suggest options based on your layout and design goals, and help you find the right balance of performance and feel. Many customers change their minds after seeing the fabrics in person – that’s part of the process.
Site Visits and Measurements
After an initial consultation, the next step is a detailed site visit. This is where we assess the actual layout, take precise measurements, and evaluate ceiling, wall, and recess conditions. It’s also when we confirm whether there’s enough space for pelmets, recessed tracks, or mounting brackets.
During site visits, there’s a lot more than just measuring the ceiling to the floor. Some factors to consider are how carpentry sits, or how you might have been planning for certain furniture positions. The goal is to make sure everything fits visually and physically.
Start With a Conversation
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you visit. In fact, most people don’t. This design guide is here to give you a head start — but real homes benefit from real conversations, site-specific advice, and the experience of people who’ve done this many times before.
We’d love to help. Come by the showroom, bring your floorplans, and let’s talk about what’s possible.
